The article examines the causes behind farmers' suicide in India from different perspectives and seeks to explore how a capitalist approach to development through globalisation is the key factor responsible for the increasing agrarian crisis. Moreover, the article examines that how these neo-liberal policies and the concept of free trade and open market advanced and implemented by the unholy trinity that is the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and World Trade Organisation (WTO) lead to agricultural distress and farmer suicide.
